It’s better to set a clear goal so it’s easy to tell whether or not you’ve achieved it. Instead of “eat healthier,” set a goal to cook a meal from scratch three times a week. Instead of “exercise more,” decide to go to the gym twice a week. After a few months, you can look back at your progress to see how well you did.

 

Be Kind to Yourself

Above all, you have to remember to be kind to yourself. You will have tough days or weeks when you fail to stick to your goals, but that’s okay. Don’t beat yourself up; it happens to everyone. Acknowledge that you dropped the ball and resolve to start fresh tomorrow. Giving yourself permission to slip up makes it easier to get back on track.
